Food Safety and Quality Assurance

Our office is responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of the DSCPE food safety and quality assurance program.

We make sure that the food provided to the service members and their families is wholesome and of high quality. As the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia's European and CENTCOM liaison, FS & QA coordinates with U.S. Army Veterinary Services, U.S. Air Force Military Public Health, other U.S. Government agencies and various European and Middle Eastern Health Agencies to monitor the food safety and quality of the subsistence items that are purchased, shipped, stored, and delivered to DoD facilities in EUCOM and CENTCOM. We conduct quality assurance visits to vendor plants, storage facilities, and sources to ensure the wholesomeness and quality of the subsistence program. Food Safety and Quality Assurance also performs quality management visits with our customers to improve customer awareness and satisfaction. Food Safety and Quality Assurance develops, implements and reviews item descriptions and contracts to ensure that U.S. quality and food safety standards are met.
